cPCI RF TRANSCEIVER UMTS Band 1920-1980 MHz / 2110-2170 MHz
The FlexcellTM cPCI RF modules provide multi-carrier, wideband radio front-ends for the various frequency bands that are used for every kind of communications. The RF UMTS 1920-1980 MHz / 2110-2170 MHz is one such module.
This industry-standard 6U cPCI card operates over a fixed 20 MHz tuning bandwidth positioned anywhere in the UMTS RF spectrum. IF sampling techniques are used to eliminate one step in the RF analog process. Current radio architectures commonly digitize each RF carrier after mixing it down to baseband or low IF. In Radical Horizon’s FlexcellTM concept, wideband receivers simultaneously receive all channels in the frequency band and digitize them at IF frequencies with an analog to digital converter. Two receivers in a small form factor support diversity processing, software compensation for channel and RF chain distortion and smart antenna applications with multiple antennas. A single transmitter converts signals from the digital IF network to a multi-carrier RF output. As an option, one or both RF receivers can be configured to use the same frequencies as the transmitter.
The FPGA transmits and receives digital broadband signals to and from the DSP. An integrated communications processor provides wireline connectivity such as Ethernet, T1/E1 and RS-232.
